Understanding Your X-rays
When you have a musculoskeletal complaint, xrays are commonly used during the diagnostic work up performed in the orthopedic surgeons office.

With hip or knee pain, multiple standing x-rays of the affected joint and some times the spine are ordered to provide additional information and direct the treatment plan.
​
X-rays provide the most information about boney anatomy such as if there are any fractures or development of arthritis. The following video provides an overview of understanding knee x-rays.
